Why I’m running towards the unknown; not away.

Web3… what actually is it, how do I wrap my head around it, and what do I need to know about it? If you asked me this question two months ago, I would have very little clue what to tell you. After months of hearing about the world of NFTs, the metaverse and Web3 and being so overwhelmed by it to the point where I wanted to avoid it all together, I took a step back and realized that I had two options. I could choose to hide from it and let it remain this scary, intimidating thing. OR, I could choose to go at it full force, immerse myself in it, and tackle it head on.

I made a conscious decision to do the latter, because like most things in life, I’m a big believer of leaning into the things that scare me instead of running from them (in my opinion: this is where the most transformative growth and life moments come from).

Historically, I’ve been a late adopter when it comes to big revolutions in the tech world, but I can’t ignore the fact that this space is being dominated by male voices: currently, less than 20% of the space has female representation. We tend to be more risk averse, but I want to change that by doing the work to understand this world so you don’t have to. There’s a huge opportunity for us to be a part of this world and make our voices heard.

My goal is not to make anyone feel like they need to be knee deep in the world of Web3, but to take this intimidating space that can be difficult to understand, and deliver the basics in an easy, approachable and digestible way (a Web3 for dummies if you will). Again, it’s not about being a pro by any means, but first and foremost it’s about being involved, informed and understanding, with the hopes of getting more female voices in the space from the ground up.
